On a Sunday evening last month, Moochie's owners called him in for dinner. He came straight into the house then collapsed. Concerned, his owners rushed him to the Essendon Animal Accident and Emergency Centre. The veterinarian found him to be bright and alert but he had some interesting injuries including shredded nails and a swollen left hind leg. Moochie also had a small 1cm skin wound on his left hind leg and he was in a lot of pain when his leg was manipulated. Moochie had likely been hit by a car.

Sam is a 14 year old male, chocolate Burmese, who was diagnosed with Diabetes Mellitus a year ago. His owner noticed he had been drinking lots of water, and had been losing weight. After a thorough checkup including a blood test we were able to determine his health status.

Bono as you all know is our clinic cat and is a very mischievous cheeky boy. His cheeky behaviour got him into a bit of trouble a couple of weeks ago when he decided to chew the flowers of some lily plants that one of our clients had so kindly given to us.

Cleopatra is a male domestic short haired cat, who was presented to us with a dislocated hip. This was confirmed by x-rays taken at the hospital. Our vets successfully placed Cleopatra's hip back into place and bandaged his leg to prevent further injury. Unfortunately, once home, Cleopatra jumped down off the couch and caused himself further injury. In fact he re-dislocated his hip again.

Prince the 13 year old cat was supposed to be celebrating his 13th birthday when his owners had to rush him in to see us.

The saying “a cat has nine lives” may be more than just a myth for our friend Kanga the young male neutered domestic cat. Kanga was taken to an after hours emergency clinic when he was the victim of a motor vehicle accident.
